To further advance the Patriotic Health Campaign, build a robust campus health and safety barrier, and enhance the emergency response capacity for sudden infectious diseases, City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) successfully concluded two major initiatives on August 28: the "Cultivating the Beauty of Labor, Illuminating the Campus with Civility" Campus-Wide Patriotic Health Cleaning Campaign and the "Two Fevers" Infectious Disease Emergency Response Practical Drill. Both events were executed smoothly and achieved excellent practical outcomes. The university's Party Secretary and other leadership attached great importance to the series of activities and provided meticulous guidance. Through the collaborative efforts of various functional departments and the active participation of faculty, students, and property management staff, the initiatives yielded highly positive results.

Cultivating the Beauty of Labor, Illuminating the Campus with Civility" Patriotic Health Cleaning Campaign

At 10:00 a.m., the campus-wide Patriotic Health cleaning campaign was officially launched in front of the library. Under the leadership of the Party organization, Party members, Party activists, Communist Youth League members, faculty members, students, and volunteers gathered at the site. Participants were assigned to specific zones to carry out comprehensive environmental sanitation improvements. Key efforts included cleaning the main campus roads, green belts, and public areas, meticulously identifying and eliminating hidden sanitation dead spots, and organizing and maintaining public campus facilities.

At the cleaning site, participating faculty and students demonstrated high morale and enthusiasm. Party and Youth League members fully leveraged their pioneering and exemplary roles, practicing the spirit of labor through immersive hands-on activities. This event fostered a new campus culture characterized by "Party-led guidance, Youth League coordination, and collective participation by all," further strengthening the awareness of health and civility among faculty and students, and laying a solid foundation for building a clean, tidy, elegant, and scholarly campus.

Training to Build Defenses, Drilling to Enhance Readiness: "Two Fevers" Infectious Disease Emergency Drill Conducted Successfully

At 2:30 p.m., the university conducted a practical emergency response drill for "Two Fevers" infectious diseases. Simulating the scenario of a suspected dengue fever case on campus, the drill covered multiple locations, including classrooms, the campus clinic, temporary isolation and observation rooms, student dormitories, and public campus areas. A comprehensive, full-process simulation was carried out, encompassing case identification and observation, information reporting, activation of the emergency response, epidemiological investigation, door-to-door screening and handling, breeding site clearance, disinfection operations, health monitoring and education, and the assessment of the patient's return to campus.

During the drill, leaders from the university's infectious disease prevention and control task force observed and evaluated the exercise on-site. Campus doctors, teachers, student representatives, property management staff, cleaning and landscaping personnel, and pest control workers collaborated closely, strictly implementing each response procedure in accordance with the emergency plan. The drill effectively tested and refined the university's infectious disease prevention and control emergency plan, reinforced accountability across all positions, and enhanced practical capabilities in cross-departmental coordination, vector-borne mosquito control, and health education. Following the drill, an on-site summary and evaluation were conducted to identify areas for process improvement, accumulating practical experience for future optimization of the emergency response plan.

Two Practical Initiatives in One Day, Hard Work Safeguards the Campus.We extend our sincere gratitude to the university's Party branch for its overall planning, deployment, and caring guidance; to the Student Affairs Office and other relevant departments for their active cooperation; and to all faculty and student volunteers, property management, and staff across various positions for their full dedication.
