According to meteorological forecasts, Typhoon Ragasa (the 18th typhoon of the year) is expected to impact Dongguan City on September 24 as a severe or super typhoon, bringing significant wind, rain, and storm surge. The situation demands extreme vigilance. To ensure the safety of our faculty and students and effectively respond to extreme weather, the following requirements are hereby notified:
1. In accordance with the "Notice on Implementing the 'Five Suspensions' Measures Citywide" issued by the Dongguan Flood, Drought, and Wind Prevention Headquarters on September 22, 2025, the university will suspend classes for three days from September 23 to September 25 (the follow-up arrangements for make-up classes will be announced by the Academic Regulations and Records Office). In principle, faculty and staff will work from home from 12:00 p.m. on September 23 to 5:30 p.m. on September 24. For any special circumstances, department heads shall make appropriate arrangements. Any adjustments will be notified separately.

Academic Regulations and Records Office, Student Development Office, Campus Development Office, Campus Operation Office, Safety/Health/Environment Office, and related departments shall intensify patrols and preventative measures. Conduct thorough safety inspections of teaching facilities, student dormitories, libraries, canteens, laboratories, construction sites, drainage systems, and other key areas. Promptly eliminate hazards to ensure full preparedness for typhoon response. Perform emergency response and duty shifts according to assigned responsibilities.
3. All faculty, staff, and students are advised to prioritize personal safety. During the typhoon, minimize outdoor activities and avoid unnecessary travel. Secure doors and windows, move potted plants and other potential falling objects indoors, and park vehicles in safe locations.
