In order to further enhance the university’s emergency first aid capabilities and promote first aid knowledge and skills, we are now organising a Red Cross First Aid Attendant (Basic Level) training course for all staff and students. We warmly welcome interested and responsible staff and students to sign up!
I. Training Date and Venue
• Training Date: Saturday, 21 March 2026, 9:00–17:00
• Venue: Lecture Theatre, Ground Floor, Library
II. Training Content
This training comprises theoretical instruction and practical assessment, with the specific schedule as follows:

8:50–9:00 Morning registration
9:00–9:10 Opening ceremony
9:10–10:10 Introduction to the Red Cross Movement, first aid overview, and management of common medical emergencies and accidental injuries
10:10–10:20 Break
10:20–11:20 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
11:20–12:00 CPR Practice + Practical Assessment
12:00–13:50 Lunch Break
13:50–14:00 Afternoon registration
14:00–15:50 Trauma care and bandaging
15:50–16:00 Break
16:00–16:10 Theory assessment
16:20–17:00 Haemostasis and bandaging practice + practical assessment
III. Number of Participants
• Staff and teaching staff: 20
• Students: 40
IV. Support and Incentives
• Those who pass the training will receive a Red Cross First Aid Attendant (Basic Level) certificate;
• Students will receive a record of volunteer hours;
• Training materials and bandaging supplies will be distributed on-site;

VI. Important Notes
1. Once registered, please arrange your schedule accordingly; attendance is mandatory and unauthorised absences will not be permitted;
2. Please wear casual sportswear and flat shoes; female participants are requested to wear trousers;
3. The practical training sessions will be physically demanding. Participation is not recommended for those with injuries, who are pregnant, or who suffer from severe heart conditions, asthma, epilepsy or other medical conditions that may affect their ability to participate;
4. Both the theory exam and attendance check-in will be completed via mobile phone; please ensure your phone is fully charged;
