Ⅰ. Platform Overview
The “ICAIFANG” platform integrates book selection systems the library's contracted suppliers and resources from high-quality publishers globally, combining book search, new arrivals, direct recommendation, and specialized booklist functions into one platform. The platform offers high-quality and abundant resources, establishing an excellent knowledge service system for faculty and students.
Ⅱ. Usage Guideline
1. Access Link: https://cityu-dg.icaifang.cn/ or Resources – Resource Recommendation on the library website
2. Scope: Chinese and foreign language print books and e-books
3. Recommendation Methods:
Search and Recommend: Search by ISBN, title, author, and publisher to find the books you wish to recommend.
Select from the New Arrival: Select newly published books by discipline and classification number, allowing you to browse and recommend your favorite books online.
Direct Recommendation: If you cannot find the books that you wish to recommend from the above search results, you can fill out the online form to make a recommendation.
4. Status Inquiry: Log in with your unified identity authentication to track the progress of your recommendation in real time.
III. Service Commitment
The library will respond via email within 5 working days regarding whether the books will be purchased. You may also log in to “ICAIFANG” to check the latest processing status of your recommendations.
Once a recommendation is accepted, the library will promptly place an order. Generally, for Chinese books it takes 3-6 weeks from the time the order is placed until the book arrives at the library and completes the cataloging process, while for foreign language books it takes 3-6 months.
The delivery time for individual orders may be extended due to unforeseen factors such as publication timing, distribution status, and procurement channels. We kindly seek your understanding for such cases.
IV. Important Notes
1. Please check the library's collection before making a recommendation to avoid duplicate recommendations.
2. Recommendations for journals and databases are typically high-cost purchases due to their ongoing nature. Only faculty members may recommend these resources, and the recommendations have to be submitted via email.
